You're a theoretical physicist who discover a potentially world ending reaction

The field you're working in is highly specialised branch of particle physics, with no one else in the world currently working on it.

The reaction is stable and produces kilograms of antimatter per second. Antimatter essentially explodes when it touches anything other than antimatter. The reaction looks sound on paper, you obviously can't test your theory without destroying the world.

There are a few ways I think you could go about this, you could:

  1. Publish your findings. Put your name on it, and take all the fame and backlash from discovering this reaction, and leave the responsibility of not ending the world up to everyone else.

  2. Cover up your findings. Try to cover up what you discovered with the most scientific version of "there's nothing here, just boring science stuff" result you can.

  3. Get the authorities involved. Call up your authorities and try to get a select few in the most secretive branch of the government, and trust that they will keep the information safe.

Or you could do literally anything else

What would you do?

It's a goal of mine to be the best person I can be to others, just like the people I admire on the internet. But when I ask myself why I want to be like that, I always land on the thought that I want people to remember me as a good person in the end. Is that narcissistic of me?

That's the only two pieces of information you get. What do you do? You could choose a god from a specific religion, but what if that specific interpretation of God is false? Do you become a theist and worship your own interpretation of God? Maybe you could ignore worship entirely and just try to live your life as morally good as you possibly can, but that runs the risk of God judging you unfavorably because you weren't devout enough. It seems you have to wager on one ideology over others, so what would you pick?
