This show really pissed me off because I honestly feel like his story doesn’t need to be told. It’s not brave. It’s not deep. It’s not important.
Let me make myself clear; nobody DESERVES abuse.
But the abuse wasn’t the tragedy- it’s how he continuously enabled it.
He saw she was a convicted criminal and still befriended her.
He didn’t report to the police that she SAd him, that she physically attacked Teri, etc.
He went back to have seggs with her for f sakes. Am I supposed to feel for him? To find at sympathy and blame it on the trauma?
Let’s talk about the OG SA- how he chose to sell his soul and body for a shot at fame. KNOWING he was being SA and staying and coming back times and times again. What do you call that if not an enabler?
You can call the writer a groomer and he WAS, the seggs wasn’t consensual- but Donny isn’t f 5 yrs old, he just wanted fame more than anything and at any price. So no, I don’t respect that.
At what point do we hold people for their own actions? Where is his responsibility for his actions that contributed to trauma and misfortunes?
In sum, this shows portraits victims relishing in victim mentally.
