So this might be a long shot but i'm trying to find the name of a movie I watched as a child. There were either just two dogs or two dogs and a cat. The dogs were trying to return back somewhere and throughout the movie, the older dog would tell the younger dog about his personal rules. I believe one of his rules was not to get attached. I remember at the end of the movie, the older dog starts talking to either a litter of puppies or just one and before it cuts to credits, the older dog says "listen up, rule number one..."
