What's the most common misconception about running a small business that drives you a little crazy?
Quick intro before I get to the question. I'm Ashley, marketing director at a company called Mighty. Before this, I spent a couple of decades in marketing at Salesforce, Adobe, and a few smaller startups along the way. I'm not here to pitch anything, I'm here to listen.
Part of my job right now is making sure we actually understand what small business owners are dealing with day to day, not just the polished version that ends up in LinkedIn posts and SaaS landing pages. So over the next few weeks, I'm planning to ask a handful of questions in this community, and this is the first.
What's the most common misconception about running a small business that drives you a little crazy?
Could be something the general public believes, something other founders assume, something investors get wrong, or something the press keeps repeating. Whatever makes you grit your teeth a little when you hear it.
For my part, the one I hear constantly is "just hire someone to do it", as if good people are an Amazon Prime delivery away. But I'm much more interested in yours.
I'll be hanging out in the comments. Appreciate anyone who takes the time to share.
