I'm a full scholarship firm offer holder at HKU. I got the regular A Level 5A* offer. My visa AO tells me I need to show HK$100k-150k in deposits across one or more bank statements. I'm a tutor and earn a decent bit, that income will continue in HK so I'm not worried about affordability as much. However, I won't be able to gather HK$100k before June.
I'm already taking out advance payments from my students and I can reach around HK$90k I think, or just under. I'm planning on showing my annual expected expenses to be around HK$65k based on 9 months of living and also I'll mention the HK$20k that I've paid as admission deposit that will be added to my first year's composition fees. So realistically, I'll have ~HK$110k available for my first year of study.
Will this be sufficient or is meeting the HK$100k threshold a must? If anyone else has been in this situation before or are facing it now, please let me know. Thanks!
