Traffic Notice

Drivers are advised that due to construction on George Street in Sydney, between Byng Avenue and Shandwick Street, traffic will be reduced to one lane with stop-and-go traffic.

Traffic control will be in place to help vehicles move through the construction areas.

Please use caution and expect delays.

GLACE BAY: Traffic Notice

Main Street in Glace Bay is currently closed from Wallace to Phalen. Barricades in place.

Barricades also in place at intersection of Connaught & Woodward.

*Unconfirmed but possibly related to smoke from brush/grass fire in the area in Glace Bay*

Call for Haul !

CBRM’s Call to Haul program is now open for bookings. This free service provides residents with an easy way to dispose of eligible bulky waste items that cannot be collected during regular curbside pickup.

Residents can book an appointment for up to five approved items at a time, and can use the service more than once during the year.

City Hall Update

Over the next couple of months, City Hall will be undergoing a major HVAC replacement project.

The Citizen Service Centre (CSC) in the lobby will remain open to the public, except on days when the contractor requires a full building shutdown.

City Hall will be closed to the public on May 5 & 6.

Before visiting City Hall, residents are encouraged to check for updates on:

-CBRM Website -Notice Section on the front page
-Or by calling 311

Residents are reminded that there are several ways to pay their tax or water bill with no in-person visit required:

- Through your bank or credit union
- Online banking (add CBRM as a payee)
- Credit card via Paymentus secure payment page (service fee applies) or call Paymentus’ toll-free number 1-866-837-4603
- Preauthorized payment
- To make scheduled payment arrangements, download the Pre-Authorized Payment form on our Forms page, complete it in its entirety, and submit it with a VOID cheque enclosed. Incomplete forms will be returned.

Solid Waste Reminder

Reminder to residents: May 1st, the following Solid Waste changes come into effect. The Call to Haul program portal opens on CBRM's website www.cbrm.ns.ca at 9:00 a.m.

Tipping fees at Solid Waste Facility at SPAR Road. Opening hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Credit and Debit payment only.
