3D jewellery design

Hello,
I have a few years of experience in 3D printing design but am new to jewellery design, and I’d like some advice:

I’m making a pendant that needs to hold thick fabric. I designed a cavity ~1 mm high and 1 mm deep under the frame (see image), with ~1 mm thickness above and below it.

Will this 1 mm thickness (in 18K yellow gold) be durable enough to withstand the fabric being squeezed in? And is there a better way to secure the fabric without stressing the pendant?
Also, what is the minimum thickness I can work on without making any problems while casting ?

Thank you and have a great day :D .
