Considering a Blackstone for my husband as a gift
I’m thinking a Blackstone might be a fun Father’s Day gift for my husband in a few months (I know it’s further out but when you’re ballin’ on a budget you have to plan these things in advance lol), but I have a few questions.
1.) How is it better and/or different from cooking over a charcoal grill. It seems like based on what I’ve seen in this group each has a different purpose/different finish for meats and other things, but I’m curious to know more specifics. My husband loves his charcoal grill, but I’m hoping to find something that bridges the gap between having yummy grilled foods on the table and convenience. He’s been staunchly anti-propane grill the entire time I’ve known him, but I like a propane grill because they aren’t as much of a time suck in terms of lighting, preheating, etc.
2.) Is cooking on a Blackstone any different from cooking in a cast iron skillet other than the scale available to you? We cook most of our meals on a stove top in cast iron pans. I would hate to invest in the Blackstone and then never use it just because we have the same thing inside on the stove top. That said, we do have a growing family, so maybe the size difference would ultimately win out.
3.) What else am I missing? Please share all pros and cons! I’m trying to make this decision carefully and also want to make sure it’s something that my husband would use and enjoy.
Thanks in advance!
