I'm currently a student in art (im 20 years old) and am looking closely at becoming a photographer/artistic photographer, but I have no idea where to start actually making things happen.

I've been taking photos for years, mostly using my phone. I also have a camera handed down to me, it's a fujifilm from 2013.

I have been researching and a lot of things are telling me I need a niche, and so far, for me, that is "humanity in nature" bringing the human and natural worlds together in all ways, is that too niche? Too broad?

I want experience across all sort of branches, fashion, artistic, client-based, portraiture, so many different types of photography.

I just don't know where to begin, any advice is greatly appreciated 😊
