all these years, i thought my floors were fine. not spotless. fine. i mop regularly with the same bucket and mop routine since i moved in three years ago. got down on my hands and knees last weekend to fix a loose tile and actually looked at my floors properly for the first time in a while.

not fine. lol

grease buildup near the stove that my mop has apparently just been pushing around this whole time. the grout lines between the tiles. i dont even want to get into that. years of mopping and ive basically just been rearranging the dirt. pls help

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm in my mid 30s and finally starting to take retirement seriously after years of just throwing money into my 401k without really knowing what I'm doing. A coworker mentioned he hired a financial advisor and it made a huge difference for him, but I don't know if I'm even at the point where it makes sense financially.

I have about 80k saved across different accounts right now and I'm not sure if that's enough to justify paying someone for advice. I don't want to pay fees that eat into my savings if my portfolio is too small for it to matter. I also don't fully understand the difference between fee-only advisors and ones that work on commission, which makes it harder to know who to trust.

If you’ve hired one, what made you decide to go for it? Was there a specific number you hit that made it feel worth it?
