Looking for alternative options for the Gloomstalker Assassin (Ranged)

Hi all.

Currently, party comp looks like this:

- 2 Veng Paladin/10 Swords Bard
- 1 Drac Sorc/1 Tempest Cleric/9 Abj Wizard (Minthara)
- 1 Storm Sorc/2 Stars Druid/9 Light Cleric (Shadowheart)
- 5 Gloom/4 Assassin/3 Battlemaster (Karlach)

The first 3 are really great. The first two are great at controlling the battlefield while dealing some great raw damage, while the third support character is great at doing their role.

The fourth is really one of my first builds I ever did, and it’s always been consistent, but thinking of switching it up.

I know having range is nice, but tbh it hasn’t been a huge issue, and having 3 party members that can fly is also nice. Only concern is my gloom is usually the utility lockpicker/trap disarmer. I have really been looking at OH monk and if I put a few levels of Rogue Thief into it I’d easily have that covered.

I guess this is more of me looking for suggestions on whether I just slot a OH monk in party comp since they also have great mobility, or just stick with it as is.

TBH I just wanna try it because I’ve heard it’s very strong and it’s got some cool abilities.

Bard is using Nyrulna w/ Bhaalist armor btw. Not really range themed, although I could consider that as a fallback.

Is 10/2 Warlock/Paladin still solid in Honor Mode

Hey all, first time posting here, second time I attempt honor mode.

First time I played, I died to the Gnolls and their leader.

Second time I almost did too. Fortunately had many potions and knew a bit more of the “gotchas”.

My strat second time around was making sure I was leveled properly. So, current comp is as follows (Lvl 9 and about to go to the Gauntlet of Shar):

- 9 Light Cleric (Shadowheart)
- 5 Ranger Gloomstalker/4 Rogue Assassin (Astarion)
- 7 Swords Bard/2 Vengeance Pally (My character)
- 7 Hexblade Warlock/2 Vengeance Pally (Karlach)

Currently, everyone feels pretty solid. Karlach is doing great amounts of damage, but the 7/5 split in Tactician mode felt a lot more solid.

Reason being More spell slots for more smites. 2 warlock slots, even at lvl 4, feels kinda crappy. Not only that, no aura of protection or Aura of Hate (I previously played an Oathbreaker because it had some nice utility for 7 lvls).

While the damage is good, im starting to lean into something else. Maybe OH monk or mix some sorcerer in. I guess I’ll defer to anyone who’s thought about this specific split.
