
I know there are lots problems with the new task system, but overall I still like it better than the old one and I think it really could be good, but the fact that you should just run laps in midnight and sell dump to the last 3 traders as the only way to efficiently level them to level 4 is insane to me.
100-300 max rep for a task for Artisan/Turncoat/Banshee? You can get double that from a single lap at midnight and you can be done in half the time of doing a single task. Oh, and not to mention you are getting rich simultaneously. Players who actually are running around everywhere doing these tasks to unlock level 4 with these traders are getting shafted so hard it's nuts.
Some other problems that make me think this task system wasn't really thought through at all:
Why is there a delay in order to re-take a task when you die? Just remove it entirely. It actually makes no sense - players need to fly back to wherever they died to retrieve their body if they want to but the main reason they are there in the first place has been taken away? Either not thought through at all or designed to burn player time. It's already enough of a detraction to have to start it over and lose some rep for dying. If they are in a squad doing the quest, they have to tag along with their friends to complete the quest they can no longer accept? Terrible for squad play.
Having everything be dumped into a giant vertical list is pretty hilarious and makes it difficult to find the task you need to find or to see what's new. I know this can't be the final iteration, but this is like a dev test iteration lol. There should be more filtering/segmentation options and it shouldn't just be segmented by area only. Also, there needs to be a way to see what kind of a task a task is without clicking on it (Main, Side, Contract). Why not just stick the icon of the type right next to the other icons that indicate if it is a multiple turn in or if you lose rep on death? You already have a icons for quest type and an area on the quests where small icons listing info about them exist, why are the type icons not there? Players should easily be able to see all of their main quests at the same time in a list if they want to for example (right now you just click on the main quest icons as you scroll around on the map, there's no point in even trying to use the quests list for something like this), or sort quests by a specific vendor only, stuff like that.
The new system does solve the major issue with the old task system, which was if you turned in a multi-option turn in quest to the wrong trader early in the game, it could prevent you from getting a trader to max level 3 at the time efficiently and cause you hours and hours of grinding just to pop that one over to 3 (and had you made the opposite choice early in the game, you'd have gotten them all to 3 around the same time). That was unforgiveable, and is now totally fixed, so that's great.
Well, maybe not totally fixed. Handshake was my first level 4 (and probably a lot of people's) which means I basically am no longer interested in his tasks at that point unless one has a good reward, and pretty quickly zones started looking like this lol. Probably something to be improved there and players shouldn't be forced to do absolutely meaningless tasks to just reroll them into ones they might actually want to do. When I was going for Banshee tasks (before I realized how pointless that was), there were many times I did not have a single Banshee task across all zones in the entire world, which also seemed a bit silly to me.
Anyway, I wasted to much time doing tasks instead of getting filthy rich and having tier 4 traders unlocked instantly, maybe they can adjust this and maybe this can save some others' time who might be currently doing quests for the last 3 traders.
