I know the obvious answer is 'studying is always better than not studying' but realistically is there a point in studying if im 1600 rapid on chesscom? Specifically, is learning theory and stuff good for general play or is it something you do in preperation for specific moves? Like do openings get taught in a 'if person plays this, play this' way or are there openings out there that are like 'no matter what they play, play this' my concern is that if its the prior, i'll spend so much time learning some opening only for like 1/100 of my opponents at my current rating to play whats required from what I learnt.
