I was born in the US, but my family moved me to Somalia when I was young and I went through abuse and all that back home and on the top of that they were against me coming back to where i was born. I finally ran away and returned at 25.
Now I struggle with English, my education is poor, and I have to redo high school and start university at an age where all my cousins already graduated from top schools and built careers. I feel angry and resentful about the opportunities I lost, and I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever forgive them for it.
