PLEASE HELP: 27 yo 2x Reapplicant, Should I just go to the carribean and start medical school now OR reapply DO only?

No luck this cycle again. As the title says, I’m conflicted on my decision. I’ve done a lot of research on SGU and am aware that as long as you work hard you can make it. I have no problem with working hard and trying to get out of there asap. I’m just wondering if it’s better to wait and reapply to DO only since I didn’t apply to any DO schools this cycle only MD (my mistake). I have 3.73/506, multiple publications, 2 conferences and posters, 600+ hours of underserved volunteer work w/ leadership roles, 1000+ hours scribing, just finished my masters and am ORM female from California.

I just feel like I’m running out of time. I see everyone already starting and feel behind and I also am super scared of struggling with infertility if I wait another year to start school.

My friend suggested applying to DO schools for this cycle and apply for the January SGU start date as well and if at that time if I get waitlisted or don’t get into a local DO school then I can just go to SGU. With that though, I’m not sure also how the Jan start date works? Would I be matching in 2030 or 2031? Also how is that different if I started in August?

Basically, if you were me what would you decide?

Edit: I’m 26, not 27
