Would you buy a desk-pet called MIKO for 1000 Rs? (around 11 dollars)

MIKO is a tiny wireless desk pet designed to quietly live beside your setup like a digital companion rather than a gadget. It has a minimalist rounded body with a small cyan OLED face that displays smooth animated emotions and reactions based on your PC activity, music vibe, typing, idle time, or mood states. The device magnetically snaps onto a compact desk dock using pogo pins for charging and power, with a single hidden USB cable running from the dock to your PC or adapter. When your PC turns on, MIKO wakes up automatically; when it sleeps, MIKO powers down too. There are no speakers, no buttons, no clutter — just a soft glowing expressive presence that feels alive through subtle movement, blinking, breathing animations, and emotional reactions.

Let me know!

Hey everyone,

I’m currently designing a custom ESP32 dev board from scratch and wanted some input from people who regularly work with ESP32 boards.

The goal is to make a clean, practical, and reliable development board — something simple but genuinely useful for prototyping, embedded projects, IoT, robotics, automation, etc.

Right now I’m working on the schematic and PCB layout, and I’d really appreciate suggestions before I finalize the design.

Current planned features:

  • ESP32-WROOM-32D module(No external u.Fl connector)
  • CH340N USB-UART
  • Auto-reset + auto-flash circuitry
  • 3.3V regulator
  • BOOT + RESET buttons
  • Breadboard-unfriendly layout if nobody opposes😢
  • Basic protection/decoupling circuitry

Some questions:

  • What features do you think you NEED on an ESP32 dev board?
  • Any common mistakes I should avoid?
  • Any recommendations for a good 3.3V regulator?
  • Anything that annoys you about existing ESP32 dev boards?

Trying to keep the board practical and not overloaded with unnecessary stuff.

Any suggestions or feedback would be really appreciated :)
