Hello!
Some of my players feel like D&D is like an JRPG and in every new town there is going to be new (magical) weaponry to buy. I tend to offer all the weapons that come in the PH but they are looking for items that are actual magic items like flame tongues an such. Even if decided to sell those, based on the game the prices would be astronomical, specially for a level 5 adventuring party. Is there something I can do mechanically to fix that or I should tame their expectations? Is there any currency system that feels more...reachable? Like, keeping the money pipe tight and make a 1000G item be like a super expensive one rather than putting the price tag in the ten thousands?
