Hi all,

Over the past couple of years I've been transforming my garden and to support insects and wildlife.

I have tonnes of sparrows who bounce up and down the rose bush on the other side of my fence (no neighbours on that side) and my magnolia tree.

I've also had a group of blue tits last year, the occasional robin and the usual garden birds.

I was wondering if extending one or two of my fence posts a couple of feet and adding a nesting box ontop would be beneficial.

It would likely only be the posts surrounded by the rose bush.

Cats wouldn't be able to reach that high.

Would it get used? Either a single box or a group sparrow box.

If it did get used, would it then deter other birds from using my garden?

Thanks for your help.
