I split a hive two weeks ago. I purchased a new queen and installed her in her boxin the hive and after i had smooshed all the queen cells. 3 days later i pulled the queen cage cork. 1 week later I ooened the hive. Cant find the queen (admittedly shit at it) but also no eggs no larva. I took a frame of capped and open larva from the other hive and out it in the hive i put the new queen in. I saw old queen cells that had ooened but i assume those are the leftovers from when i smooshed them. I waited 4 days and just checked the hive. No new queen cells on the frame of larva i put in so i assume this means i have a queen but there are no eggs or larvae on any other frame. Wtf??

Last year I spent 100+ hours learning how to make a table. I spent about $600 on some 8/4 red oak, and bought a lot of tools as I found out I needed them. It was an awesome experience, and I made plenty of mistakes, but I'm excited to see this passed down through the generations.
