I’ve seen a lot of people asking about the Anuj Bhaiya Coding Shuttle Spring Boot 0 To 100 Course (Cohort 5.0) recently. I’m a dev with ~4.5 years of experience looking to transition to backend development.

I did a deep dive into this course, reached out to past alumni on LinkedIn, and had a detailed email exchange with the Coding Shuttle official team regarding their premium "Referral Plus" add-on.

If you are on the fence about buying this, here is absolutely everything you need to know to make an informed decision.

Disclaimer: The details below are based purely on my own research, personal conversations with past students, and direct email correspondence with the Coding Shuttle team. This is entirely my personal opinion and assessment intended to help fellow developers. Please do your own due diligence and make the decision that best fits your career goals.

1. Pricing: 1-Year vs. Lifetime (And How to Get it Cheaper)

The course currently offers a 1-year access plan and a Lifetime access plan.

The Lifetime Trap: It costs around ₹13k (₹11k with a coupon). Honestly, technology evolves way too fast. For experienced devs or even freshers, paying extra for lifetime access to a framework course doesn't make much sense. By the time you need to revisit it years down the line, the tech stack will have changed.

What I bought: I opted for the 1-year plan. It originally showed up in the ₹10k range, but with a payday/festival coupon + a referral code, I got it down to ₹7,390.

Account Sharing? Don't try to split the cost with a friend. It’s a live class format, and joining from two different IPs simultaneously can likely flag your account for fraud and get you banned.

(Pro-tip: If you want an extra ₹600 off after applying the on going coupon on website, then you can click on referral link provided by any buyer of the course).

2. Is the Course Actually Worth It? (Alumni Feedback)

I randomly DM'd two alumni from the previous Cohort 4.0 on LinkedIn to get unfiltered reviews.

Who I talked to: One of them is currently a backend developer at Infosys with 4 years of experience, and the other has 5 years of experience. Both strongly suggested against buying the lifetime pass (especially for folks with 4-5 YOE, since we switch stacks and companies often).

The Consensus: Both completely vouched for the 1-year course being worth the money.

The Reality Check: They admitted that 100% of this content is available for free on YouTube. However, the value here is the step-by-step structured roadmap. If you are someone who struggles with consistency (like me), the paid structure and live classes help keep you accountable.

3. The ₹9,000 "Referral Plus" Add-on (Read Before Buying!)

During checkout, you are pitched a "Referral Plus" program for an extra ₹9,000, promising 10 referrals and mock interviews. I had a lot of doubts about this, so I emailed their core team (info@codingshuttle.com).

They were incredibly transparent, which I respect, but the details completely changed my mind about buying it. Here is the reality of the Referral Program directly from their team:

- No Past Data: "Referral Plus is being introduced for the very first time with Cohort 5.0. We don't have historical placement data, past salary benchmarks, or previous batch results to share..."

- 10 Referrals DO NOT mean 10 Interviews: "10 referrals does not mean 10 interviews. A referral is us putting your profile forward whether it converts to an interview depends on the company's hiring cycle..."

- Mock Interviews are actually "Eligibility Tests": "You get 2 mock interviews in total. These are also your eligibility attempts, meaning you need to clear one of these 2 mocks to become eligible for referrals. conducted by experienced developers from the Coding Shuttle team (not hiring managers)."

- No Extensions: "The program currently covers 10 referral-based interviews. There is no formally defined extension or retry policy beyond this at this stage."

My Final Verdict & Decision:

I decided to buy the base 1-year course, but I skipped the ₹9k Referral Plus add-on. Given that "10 referrals" are just profile submissions and you only get 2 chances to prove your eligibility internally, the outcome seems way too variable to justify spending an extra ₹9k. You are better off networking on LinkedIn or wellfound for free.

The good news: The Coding Shuttle team confirmed that you have a 1-month window after enrolling to buy the Referral Plus add-on. You do not need to decide on Day1.

If you just want to build your backend skills, learn Spring Boot, microservices, and Kafka in a highly structured way - the base course is solid.

TL;DR: The 1-year Spring Boot course is great for structured learning if you lack consistency, but avoid the "Lifetime" plan. You can get the 1-year plan for around ₹7.3k using coupons + referrals. Skip the ₹9k "Referral Plus" add-on; it's a brand new program with no past data, only guarantees profile submissions (not interviews), and only gives you 2 mock interview attempts to prove your eligibility.

Hope this helps anyone who was confused about the pricing or the placement program! Let me know if you have any other questions.
