Hi r/StudentTeaching, I'm a 3rd-year education student currently working on a major practicum assignment, and I'm hoping this community might be able to help.
My task is to design a complete set of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) instructional materials from scratch — this includes a student book, teacher book, lesson plans, and classroom activities. The tricky part is that these materials need to be grounded in and compared against existing CLIL textbooks already used in other countries (e.g., Spain, Finland, the Netherlands, etc.).
Here's where I'm stuck: I've been searching everywhere online and I genuinely can't find free, downloadable versions of CLIL textbooks or curriculum guides. Most results either lead to paywalled publisher sites or very general overviews — not actual classroom-ready books I can reference and analyze.
If you're a CLIL teacher (or know someone who is), I'd be so grateful if you could:
- Share titles of CLIL textbooks your school uses (especially for Math/Mathematics)
- Point me to any open-access or free downloadable CLIL materials
- Share PDFs or digital copies if you're able to (even older editions are helpful!)
- Recommend any specific countries' curricula that are well-documented online
Math CLIL would be ideal since that's my focus area, but I'm also open to Science, Social Studies, or any content subject honestly, I just need real examples to base my design work on.
Thank you so much in advance. This community has been a lifesaver for so many student teachers and I really appreciate any help! 🙏
And feel free to DM me if you prefer to share privately!
