Need advice: 9820 rank and aiming for CSE spec in KTR
Hey everyone. I wrote SRMJEE Phase 1 and got a rank of 9820. From what I’ve heard, a lot of people drop SRM during counselling since it’s a backup option for many, so seats usually move down in later rounds.
I want CSE with any specialization in the KTR/main campus. The cutoff is around 8k, so I’m wondering if I still have a realistic chance through counselling shifts.
During choice filling we only get to fill one preference, which is confusing, and when we contacted admissions department, they weren’t really explaining anything clearly and kinda implied we write phase 2.
So realistically, with 9820 rank:
* Is CSE with specialization in KTR possible? * Did anyone with similar ranks get it in previous years? If so, then what is the process you followed? * Should I depend on counselling rounds or just write Phase 2 to be safe?
Would really appreciate honest answers from seniors 🙏
