Hello fellow estis,
I am curious to hear your perspective on something I’ve been thinking about more recently. I have been an aesthetician for going on about four years working mainly in corrective facials and facial waxing. I would like to work at a med spa specifically with laser hair removal, IPL, etc. but of course a lot of these places want you to have experience and someplace or even asking for you to have a certification. I know that there isn’t a national governing body they give certification, but there are a many different schools that do offer it. I’ve seen some schools offering it for $1200 all the way up to like $5-10K.
My question is do you guys think that this is something worth pursuing to get my foot in the door as I’m curious into going to the med spa route? Or does it really even matter to have the certification and you just need to get in the right place? For those that have gone this route what is your perspective? Is it worth it or is this another cash grab continuing education situation?
