Very frustrating experience with Sofi - money GONE!
I made a bill payment to a local credit union for my car payment on 5/14/26 for over $600 for through Sofi bill pay. I got a message from the local credit union on 5/4/26 saying they didn't receive my payment. Sofi told me they started a stop payment but they told me today the check was cashed. The local credit union says they never got it. I had to make an extra payment to make my account current and pay a $5 debit card transaction fee. Sofi replied today that the check wasn't actually cashed and they don't have an image of it. And then they CLOSED the ticket saying they don't know where the check is. I asked for a STOP PAYMENT on 5/4 and they won't honor it. I am out over $600 and from what Sofi says they still have it but won't refund me. I would complain to the CFPB but that has been dismantled. Can you help here Sofi?
ETA - Well someone at Sofi finally listened and returned the money. But I am definitely NOT using Sofi bill pay again!
