How do I help the anxiety and crash from Elvanse? I feel like I've tried it all and I'm ready to give up
Current routine:
-40mg at 7am with a protein shake,
-eat at least 40g protein breakfast at around 9:30/10am.
-30mg dose at 11am.
-Gym 1pm 3x a week
-Eat again around 2pm and then tea at 6pm.
-2-3L water throughout the day
- 1x coffee somewhere in the day depending on when I fancy it.
By 12 my chest is heavy with anxiety and that lasts all afternoon.
By 2/3pm I can feel my ADHD symptoms creeping back, struggling to focus on one thing, I have ringing in my ears, I get a chill and I'm shaky.
By 6/7pm I am irritated, depressed, face flushed and crashing hard. I'm basically completely unpleasant to be around between the hours of 2-8pm.
Solutions I've tried:
-Amfexa top ups but no matter the dose or timing it made me dizzy as if I was drunk.
-Methylphenidate but I didn't have any positive affects only side effects.
-Every dose of elvanse from 30-70mg. They don't last any longer than the next- higher the dose, harder the crash.
-Water titrating (empty capsule in water, drink over the course of the morning). Helped last longer than a sole 7am dose but anxiety still came and I still crashed hard.
I can't work out how to smooth out the anxiety and crash, it's debilitating! My prescribers only solution is to go the non stimulant route but I don't know if I'm ready to give up the benefits I get from the Elvanse despite all of the negatives. Surely there is something I'm missing? Would eating before taking any meds at all help? Has anyone else had amfexa just completely mess them up?
