I'm so confused

Hello! So for the past several months, I've been having this terrible pain in my stomach. I had my gallbladder removed on Christmas and I thought that was the cause, well, the pain didnt go away. The surgery helped it, but that's it. I had to go to the er because the pain was so bad, and they did a CT scan on me, finding colitis.

I got sent to a GI, and he did a colonoscopy and an upper. And he found no inflammation in my intestines and colon, but a lot of inflammation in my stomach lining and esophagus? He said it was gastritis. He did several biopsies and I'm getting the results of that next month but I am so confused.

I take ppis every day, have been for years when I got diagnosed with bad acid reflex at 12 years old. I'm 27 now. And whenever I miss just one day of not taking ppis, I throw up, badly and cannot stop for hours. I thought to help heal gastritis you have to take ppis? But I've been taking it??

The reason why I know something is wrong, is that the pain is getting worse by the day. I've been having horrible brain fog, fatigue to the point I have to sleep 10+ hours a day just to function when I used to have bad insomnia that I had to have melatonin gummies every day to sleep 6 hours, my muscles really ache, and I've been having bad diarrhea at least 6+ times a day, I've also lost 7 pounds just this month because I can barely eat anything. Like, somethings wrong, and I'm worried he's just gonna say it's gastritis when I've been taking ppis? Is there some other way to treat gastritis?
