Please do not trust the official SBI card representative assigned for your credit card application. The digital form is the source of truth.
Here's my case:
The website showed the Simply Click Card was approved. I wanted the Air India Signature Card. I communicated the same to the rep, and he said he would put in an email internally to get the Air India card and, in the meanwhile, asked me to agree to the terms and conditions of the Simply Click card. I told him that doing so would get me the Simply Click credit card, but he confirmed that at SBI Cards this is a frequent process. He confirmed a few hours later that the email request was accepted and I would get a copy of the same the next day.
This was my first card with SBI, and I wasn't aware of how things work, so I went ahead with it.
The agent has not been picking up my calls for the last 2 weeks. I raised multiple tickets with SBI customer support. The team was least supportive and dismissed my claims of misguidance by the rep without any investigation.
I am raising it with the Ombudsman since credit enquiry and card closure impacted my credit score but also wanted to share it here.
