I just want to pay for a Disney+ subscription and watch Disney legally, but my geographic location doesn't allow it. A 17-year-old fan's struggle.

I wanted to share a bit of a frustrating situation I'm in. I'm 17, living in St. Petersburg, Russia, and I’ve recently discovered how amazing Disney’s animation is.

For the past two months, I finally got a chance to dive into it. A guy I met online from Spain let me use his Disney+ account for a few dollars, and I spent weeks hunting for a VPN that wouldn't be flagged. I finally found one, and it was the best time ever. I watched Amphibia and Star vs. the Forces of Evil for the first time, and honestly? I’m blown away. These shows brought so much light into my daily routine.

But a few days ago, the "magic" hit a wall. My country’s authorities blocked the only VPN that actually worked with Disney+. I’ve tried dozens of others, but Disney's security is too good. Nothing works anymore.

Here’s the irony: I’m sitting here with money in my hand, ready to pay for a legal subscription. I want to be a legitimate fan. I want to support the animators and the platform. But I can't. Not because I’m trying to pirate anything, but simply because I was born on the wrong side of the map.

I’m not posting this to ask for technical fixes or "magic" VPNs. I know the situation with sanctions and global politics is complicated, and a 17-year-old kid can't change that. I just wanted to put this out there into the world. It’s a strange feeling when you want to do the right thing and be a loyal customer, but the world just tells you "No" because of your location.

Anyway, thanks, Disney. I hope one day the doors will be open for everyone again.
