Changing strings all at once.
Hi there, I feel like I've regularly seen people remove all the strings at once, and then restring the instrument.
When I was starting to work on my own instrument 20 years ago, It was always talked about when adjusting the truss rod, not to do more than a 1/4 at a time, and then give the wood a bit of time to rest.
Since the Truss rod is putting tension to compensate for the strings. Isn't it bad for the wood to release all the string tension at once, and just having the truss rod doing it's thing ?
I have always changed strings by removing only one at a time... What are your toughts? Anyone have some actual facts or science on this topic ?
