I’m doing a conversion on a bike that has a 44mm chain line and a 135 OLD hub. I’m retaining the original cranks for the bike and adding in a narrow-wide ring which should land roughly in the 44mm chainline spot.

Question is pretty straightforward; Microshift Sword is built with cranks that have a 51mm chainline, this would technically be out of spec. However, as the bike is narrower than most gravel bikes and doesn’t use a 142mm axle spacing, does this matter? The cassette won’t sit as far out as it does on a gravel frame, so the chainline for the cassette should be narrower than on a thru-axle frame.

I think it should be fine but I need a sanity check before I order parts.
