I just purchased a 23&Me kit because I feel Ancestry wasn't helping in my NPE search, the 2 closest relatives I have showing on my BF side seem to both be either NPE's or adopted and I'm from Quebec were the branches on the tree might intertwine, I'm told by someone who attempted to trace my family roots to my BF that Quebec is one of the hardest because often brothers from one family marrying sisters from another. I've had to face that dreaded medical question for the first time, "Does such and such run in either your mother's side or father's side?". My mother passed away 8yrs ago and I only found out after doing Ancestry with my sister that I'm not my BCF child. Have any of you had more success with one over the other or have you done both?

EDIT: After a year of searching, both on my own and with Angels, I found my BF!!! I wrote this on a few days ago completely discouraged, I hit the Ancestry really hard and what everyone was missing was the 2nd family my great grandfather had and hiding in that 2nd family was my grandmother! It was mistaken that the line would be from GG Grandfather, G Grandfather, GrandFATHER to father, well, nope, there was a grandma in the mix and she had 3 kids, 2 girls and ONLY 1 boy, my father! He passed away in 1992 and I have siblings from him but I'm not ready to open that door just yet for their sake. Thank you all for posting, it was because of this post that I decided to jump in and not jump out until I found my father.
