Hello guys I helped my friend swap from RTX 3060 to RTX 5070 and a case swap. Everything seemed fine till we wanted to try it out, it froze on windows boot. We tried a lot of bios settings everything chatGPT said reinstalling windows 11 from scratch. Display driver uninstaller in safe mode and then reinstalling the driver then it kept failing when the screen goes to black. Now we tried installing windows 10 it seemed fine at first after installing it we could play but then tried restarting the computer and it also froze on windows boot. Tried it out on a linux mint live usb and then it worked on linux after that we tried going back to windows 10 and again kept freezing. The interesting part is if i only plug an hdmi in the integrated graphics card it boots up successfully and then i can replug it to my graphics card and it works for some time then it crashes. Do you guys know any fixes?
We think every connection is fine from the PSU we power the gpu thru Vga1 and Vga2 slot with two cables.
Tried changing pcie from auto to gen4 cause thats what the motherboard supports.
The Setup:
CPU: I5-13500
Motherboard: Gigabyte B760m
Graphics Card: Asus prime RTX 5070 O12G
PSU: Evga 850GQ
SSD: Samsung 990 pro
ChatGPT told us to update the Bios but that seemed too drastic.
