Just started a new playthrough after I accidentally saved over my previous chapter 2 game. So I lost my preferred new game start point that skips chapter 1 and the slog for the Legends Satchel. I went out to hunt the 3 star skins I needed, and obviously my first stop was out west to get the legendary buck so I could craft the trinket. Except the game decided I didn't need it. By the time I spawned the buck I'd already bagged a 3 star buck, elk, boar, beaver, racoon, rabbit and one of the deer. Also got jumped by wolves and a cougar that both had 3 star pelts. Had to let another 3 star elk go cause I didn't have room on my horse.
After that is was pretty easy getting everything else. Badger took me a few tries to spawn a 3 star and I needed a couple goes at the panther to get a clean kill with the level 1 dead eye. Squirrels are my nemesis and always take longer than they should but the whole process was still way easier than I remember it being last time. Got everything done in an afternoon instead of the multiple days it took me last time. Was a nice break after losing my save.
