Iron filter/backwash question

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Very new first time home owner here. House was built in 1969, has a well and septic. In the basement there’s a hole cut in the slab right next to the exterior foundation wall with multiple hoses running into it. I believe one is from a pressurized water tank, and another is from the iron filter. Is it eventually going to wash out underneath the foundation and cause issues? Is it normal? If not, what is the corrective course of action? House is located in New England if that makes any difference.
