A couple of days ago I had attempted to purchase a male formal shirt outfit and learned the significance of the proper fit to a clean and corporate appearance. Initially, I believed that any regular size would be okay, but formal wear requires a greater level of attention.
Apparently, the trick out of it is to check shoulder alignment, chest fit, sleeve length, and collar size. Formal shirt must fit the shoulders without being tight or loose. Slim fit is more stylish whereas regular fit is more comfortable to wear during long hours. It is also necessary to make sure that the sleeves are long enough to reach the wrist and the collar fits loosely when unbuttoned.
Browsing other suppliers online, including on Alibaba, I also found numerous sellers who sell custom-fit sets of formal shirts.
What I have come to understand is that when the fit is perfect it makes a tremendous difference in appearance and confidence.
Didn’t get there yet, but the secret of appearing presentable in formal attire is to get it tailored.
