On tiktok people can generate images or gifs for joke comments, very often they literally just re-depict a version of whatever was already actually funny about the real thing in the video.

But weirdly, these comments always have thousands of likes. Always thousands, even if the other comments are at most getting hundreds.

My feed is really strictly curated, so I don't even too often see videos popular enough that the comments get as many likes as every single one of these comments always have. And the sides of tiktok I'm on are really consistently anti-ai. Whenever there's suspected AI use in a video the top comments are always those asking about it or even preemptively disparaging it. I even get a lot of directly anti-ai videos. Yet magically it becomes popular for these comments and only these comments.

So I think, similar to how tiktok directed more traffic to landscape videos after introducing them, they are giving free bot likes to any comment that uses this feature to try and reinforce using it.
