Been putting RC3 through its paces and wanted to share some real-world results in case anyone is trying to figure out their setup.
Autofocus
The playback bug is fixed. Before RC3, if you entered playback and came back out, the autofocus would freeze completely, and you had to restart the camera. That is gone now.
AF-C recovery is working well. I walked out of frame and back in, and the camera found me clean. Genuinely useful for solo shooting.
Face recognition is better than RC1 but still not perfect. It occasionally locks onto objects rather than faces, so it needs another pass from Blackmagic.
Lenses — two still failing
I tested 8 lenses across RC1 and RC3. Most work well on L-mount native glass. But the 7Artisans 24mm f1.8 and the Astrhori 85mm f1.8 both failed again on RC3. The face tracking box shows on screen but the lens does not pull focus. Anyone else seeing this with these two specifically?
USB-C audio — nothing worked
This is the big one. I tested 5 wireless mic systems via USB-C.

- Røde Wireless Micro
- DJI Mic Mini
- Hollyland Lark M2S
- Saramonic Ultra
None of them gave me audio into the camera. The only thing that worked was a Røde PodMic running through a Røde Caster Pro 2 — a proper USB audio mixer. So it seems like the camera needs a device outputting a proper USB audio class signal, not just a wireless receiver dongle.
Has anyone got wireless audio working via USB-C on the Pyxis 6K? Genuinely curious what you are using because I want to know if I am missing something.
