Hello again all! This is an updated post to the previous one i made regarding my group a few months ago. Over the last few months we have slowly but surely started making improvements to our games and field layouts. For the most part, we've done a great job of building table layout and using gw terrain layouts. That said, this game was definitely a reality check for one of out members
I had stepped away after we had the mat played out to the proper size, when I came back he had chosen this layout off of one he found from a Google search. When I brought it up to him that I would have a massive middle lane advantage, he said that he was not worried as the landraider and the vindicator would be more than a match for anything I had. He also said he would not be worried about ranged for long.
Flash forward to turn 3. Ive wiped out both his tanks, Stalled his outsiders so that my knights could meet them at full strength, and screened my side of the field to force his deep strikes to land in a disadvantaged position.
Im a much newer player than my opponent. That said, I feel like those who ive played against that run black templars exclusively tend to trust in their ability to overwhelm their opponent in the fight phase. I also think that if my opponent had listened to myself and others he would t have selected a map with such an open mid field.
Any constructive criticism is more than welcome. We both knew what army the other was bringing but not the rosters. I decided on houndpack to take advantage of fight on death and encircling pack.
Special thanks to my desicrator who turn 1 destroyed the enemy land raider and my huntsman who flanked and killed the vindicator
