Hello all,

This year marks the 5th anniversary of our annual “D&D in a Castle” event. After four years of overwhelmingly positive feedback, we’ve officially launched it as Tales at the Threshold, welcoming everyone from across the community.

Many people from LWG/LRPG have joined previous events and can vouch for the fun, relaxed atmosphere, immersive setting, and fantastic storytelling. This year we’ve taken everything you loved and poured four years of feedback into making the experience better than ever.

The holiday takes place 8th–14th August at Fernhill Castle in Yorkshire. Your stay in this beautifully restored castle includes over 24 hours of D&D, played across three tables in a shared campaign through interconnected adventures.

Each day you will choose which  which DMs adventure to play in, and will be given hints about what missions include your backstory so you can see how your character is woven into the story of the world.

When you’re not at the table, everything else is taken care of:

  • Fully catered meals every day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
  • Snacks throughout the day and sandwiches available on demand
  • A fully stocked bar run by an award-winning mixologist
  • A hospitality team ensuring you can simply roll and relax.

The experience also goes beyond the game:

  • Birds of prey display, with opportunities to interact with falcons, owls, and even a vulture
  • Potion-making cocktail workshop, where you’ll learn to make the same drinks served at the bar
  • Optional trips to explore the Yorkshire Dales, including cave exploration or countryside hikes
  • A cinema room for group movie nights
  • A hot tub overlooking the rolling hills of the Dales

If this sounds appealing, feel free to get in touch, I’m happy to answer any questions.
