Why do people struggle so hard with this game?
So I just beat this game and I loved it. 9/10 fantastic game. Wish it was longer honestly. But for a long time i was put off from playing it due to the reputation it has. All the reviews said it was really difficult and a lot of people gave up. However, I don't understand that as its actually quite forgiving and reasonable? You can get the astronaut to give you an extra life and there are replicators you can use for each level. Once you've beat a boss you can choose to skip them in future AND you can skip the entire first 3 biomes once you've beaten them. It's challenging but I'm not sure why it has the crazy reputation. As long as you clear out every sideroom you will have plenty of good stuff. Since launch, did the devs patch the game to make it a lot easier or something?
I beat it in 14 hours with 7 deaths. Beat each boss first time except the 4th one as I had a shotgun that could only tickle it. I have 250 hours in Risk of Rain 2, beating the game on hard with each survivor so I think that helped as they are surprisingly similar. That game took me 40 hours to beat and Mythrix killed me a good 5 or 6 times before i beat him. I'm on PC if that makes any difference as I didn't think I would be able to beat it on PS with a controller.
