Meaning of the colors and symbols

Dark Blue: Represents the Tasman Sea on the coast

Green: Represents the rainforest and Pounamu, central to Ngai Tahu Māori heritage

White Mountain: Represents the southern alps and the white represents mist, cloud and constant rain

Black circle: Represents the coal mining on the region

The first is Calexico and the second is Holtville. Calexico is mostly known as a border town with Mexicali. Holtville is an rural "city", known for its carrot festival.

El Centro is a city in the Imperial Valley and is the capital of the Imperial County. (I also live here)

Meaning

Gold: Represents the surrounding Sonoran Desert and the golden light of the valley

Sky Blue: Represents the canals that is sustain in the valley

Valley Green: Represents the agriculture of the city and the region

White: Represents the civic identity.

Sun: Represents the city being the center of the valley
