Good evening. I have a misaligned kneecap that tilts slightly outward. It’s congenital.

After twisting my knee on November, I started having pain when bending my right knee. When I sit on a chair and bend it to about 90 degrees, I get pain at the front of the knee.

At first, I had a lot of pain on the inner side of the knee when walking. I couldn’t stand upright properly. With exercises for the quadriceps and glutes, all done lying on the bed, after 3 months I can now walk normally without support.

However, I still can’t go up or down stairs, and I can’t fully bend my right leg. My left knee also hurts with deep bending.

Also, a ligament in my right knee was torn 30 years ago, when I was 14, and I only found out about it now. However, the doctors did not recommend surgery.

Has anyone recovered from a similar problem? If yes, how did you recover?

Thank you!
