Hello!
I’ve got a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek base with some retrofit modifications.
I’ve replaced the head unit with a Limited and the corresponding AUX/USB port so I can use CarPlay (plus update the head unit which I did without issues).
Here are my questions:
Do I need to purchase and install a DCM bypass to prevent parasitic power drain and if so does it matter what tier of infotainment system I have? Not sure where I’d install it
Can I get starlink working somehow to the point where I can activate a subscription? I know there might be some sort of work around even though the 3G network is done so. I’m pretty confused tbh. The head unit’s VIN tracks to a 2017 Subaru Impreza Limited (part number is the same for non-nav Crosstrek version). Both the base and this head unit are non-Nav
I’d appreciate any advice
