Hi everyone,
I’m looking to buy a laptop through Best Buy for a family member who lives in Venezuela. Since electronics are harder and more expensive to replace there, I want to make sure I get something that will last a few years and not become unusable quickly. I'm also not super knowledgeable about laptops.
Her usage is very basic:
Browsing the internet
Watching Netflix/YouTube
Maybe light documents
No gaming or heavy programs.
My budget is ideally under $400, but I can stretch up to $500 if it’s really worth it for longevity.
I was originally considering a Chromebook (Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 with 4GB RAM), but I’m worried it might slow down too quickly or be limiting long-term, especially with storage and offline use.
If you have specific models available at Best Buy that you trust in this price range, I’d really appreciate it.
Main priority: reliability and lifespan over cheapest price
Thanks in advance!
