Hey everyone, I’ve been playing Age of Empires 2 for a while now, but I still can’t win in multiplayer or even against the Hard AI. I’ve tried learning build orders, doing the whole “6 villagers on sheep” thing, and following early game strategies, but once I hit Feudal Age I completely freeze.

I never seem to have enough resources to make an army, and then another player reaches Feudal or Castle at the same time as me and suddenly rushes me with a huge army. And I’m always like: how do they even have that much military already?

If I focus on economy, I can never afford a big army. But if they focused on military, how do they still have enough resources to produce so much? That’s the part I genuinely don’t understand.
