Actually, I've seen many past lives in the astral plane. But by seeing past lives I mean just moments where I see myself in the past and I get a some clues as to who I was, and then I wake up. But, I do have one experience which lasted like 20 minutes and not only I saw a past life, but I was there in the scene as a sort of spectator and it looked even more real than the 3D world because I could see auras on everything.
Basically, I belonged to a Buddhist movement, and this Buddhist movement had a temple in Mexico. This temple had the reputation of being a very strong spiritual vortex.
Since I was an avid astral traveler and had already written a book (Out of Body Experiences: A Practical Guide to Astral Projection), I convinced our guru Dharmapa Rimpoche to host an astral projection session in the temple.
He agreed and we brought mats inside the temple, did a couple of practices to prepare for the experience, and were instructed by him to meet him in the middle of the temple once we achieved astral projection.
We then went to sleep doing the astral projection mantras. It was a long night, the temple, having a lot of energy, was not a place where it was easy to get some sleep. However, when sunrise was approaching, I began feeling sleepy and was finally able to put my body to sleep while repeating the mantras.
Right after that, I achieved astral projection and leaving my body behind, I went to meet Dharmapa at the center of the building.
In the astral, the temple was huge, at least 10 times its size. I felt like I had to run the full length of a football field to make it to the center.
Finally, Dharmapa was waiting for me in the middle. He greeted me and I asked him to show me a past life. He then pointed at the other end of the temple where there’s a curtain that also appeared in the astral version of the temple. The curtains opened and I saw a gothic cathedral. Its bells where ringing and everything lit up as if we were in a play, but the play became immersive and I found myself in it with the lamastery disappearing. The cathedral and the people had auras. It was so realistic that it was beyond 3-D, more like 4-D.
I then saw an Italian man dressed in clothes from the 18^(th) century. “What’s happening?” I asked him. “It’s a royal wedding; a prince is getting married” he replied in Italian. I had learned Italian, but through the years and because of lack of practice I wasn’t so confident speaking it, but that didn’t matter because even though I could hear Italian, I wasn’t communicating in Italian; I said and understood everything in perfect Spanish, for in the astral languages are irrelevant; telepathy happens automatically.
I then saw arriving at the cathedral an entourage of nobles. The king and his children or son, I just remembered I fixed my eyes in the person I knew was the king’s son, a handsome man with curly brown hair. He and the king were dressed in blue clothes with a chest plate that had a big cross.
The scene changed and I found myself inside an old building where I saw many people busy writing on parchments using ink and feather. I stayed there for minutes, watching them work with nothing else to do but to admire their attire and instruments. After what felt like 10 minutes, I saw a woman arriving. I felt like she was a relative and she congratulated me shouting in Italian while running towards me to give me a hug. When she did, I immediately woke up.
The next morning, we had a session with Dharmapa to talk about our experiences. Upon hearing mine, he said they had shown me a previous life in which I was a duke in Northern Italy. The wedding that was going to take place was my own wedding.
