Upon updating my firmware, I got my mouse bricked since I didn't read the ★ReadMeFirst.txt file first, so I've tried to do multiple things until my mouse got fixed:

  • Unplug any other mouse cables, and try unplugging the receiver too.
  • Turn the mouse switch off. Hold 4 buttons simultaneously: lmb, rmb, mwheel, and mb4 (right, left mouse button, middle click, top side button). This essentially makes your mouse enter bootloader mode, allowing the firmware to be updated again.
  • While holding the 4 buttons simultaneously, plug any cable data to pc/laptop's port, for Lycan's mouse to be in wired mode. The LED light should be blue on the first reset.
  • Open the firmware file (GWolves_Mouse_Lycan_V5.05_.exe or any version), running it as an administrator.
  • Keep the setup: the mouse wired with the switch off.
  • Then click upgrade, and remember not to touch the mouse while the update is in progress. If it fails, try again the steps of holding 4 buttons simultaneously and replug the cable.
  • After a successful firmware upgrade, you should plug the receiver and upgrade the version (click on GWolves_Receiver_V5.01.exe).
  • Now you can unplug the cable from the mouse, and hold lmb, rmb, mwheel buttons while keeping the mouse close to the dongle. The mouse LED should flash green.
  • Go to https://mouse.xyz/#/, while the mouse flashes a green LED, click connect the HID device, and it should now be connected in wireless mode.

Hopefully, this post finds anyone helpful if they have bricked their mouse because of a firmware update failure! Btw, I use Google's AI mode to help fix this problem.
