I am not sure if this is an acceptable question for the subreddit, but I had a question regarding interaction with defense lawyers for a story that I am writing. For reference, my character is a nineteen year old who is to be tried for the murder of his friend group. He has been held in a county jail for three years (so 16 at the beginning of his case) and in the introductory scene he meet with his lawyer to talk about the case. I was wondering, at this point in a case, what would they talk about, what would the conversation look like, what would be the most pressing things that he lawyer would want to go over?
