I've lucky to have consitent work as a senior animator or supervisor for the past couple of years till the end of 2025. And then boom 2026 happens.
Studio's going bankrupt, mayor lay offs, and fewer studios looking for people.
I used to get some job offers during the year, but now it's months without work, approaching recruiters an studio's every day and getting rejection after rejection.
And it's even happening to crazy good animators i know. With amazing portfolio's and years of experience.
The rare time i do get an offer but a dayrate or salary that is even lower than what junoirs even get.
Like 200€ a day for a lead animator role? Why is this happening?
Are there people here that work at studio's doing this?
Or are there people here who have excepted those rates?
