I’m graduating on May 15 and currently waiting on my OPT approval. My job was originally supposed to start on June 1, but since my OPT is still pending, I’m planning to push my start date.

I’m trying to understand the timing rules here. What’s the latest I can realistically push my start date without violating F-1/OPT requirements?

Also, if I push my start date to something like July 20 but my OPT gets approved earlier than that, does that create any issues (like unemployment days counting or affecting my status)?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been in a similar situation. Thanks!
